Wizard scarf

Time for Sheep to venture out in the snow again with another scarf:

Made in King Cole Riot ‘Wizard’ using the corner to corner technique on a 4.5mm hook.
The scarf took 2 x 100g balls and measures 132 x 24cm.

Sheep in the snow

There is no need to worry about this sheep’s welfare. He is just outside modelling my latest corner to corner scarf, and then I promise he will be back in the warm again!

Made in King Cole Riot ‘foliage’ on a 4.5mm hook. The scarf is 17 squares wide and 88 squares long, and it took approx. 185g of yarn.

Twiddlemuff no. 5: Rainbow riot

My latest twiddlemuff:

Made in King Cole Riot dk 1843 (rainbow) and Sirdar Country style 4 ply 634 (Sybil). This was a good stash-buster as the Rainbow riot yarn was left over from my crocodile stitch gloves (here) and the Sirdar yarn was left over from the child’s fingerless gloves (here).
It is interesting how different the different halves of the rainbow ball turned out to be. I geuss my gloves had all the red-orange-yellow and the twiddlemuff has all the green-blue-indigo-violet. Anyway it looks quite cheery.

Crocodile stitch fingerless gloves

You may remember that a while ago I bought some crocodile stitch fingerless gloves made by Skye Cottage Crochet (see here )

There seem to be several versions of the crocodile stitch out there and I used this tutorial by the Twisted yarn and this Bonita patterns blog to help.

Mine are made in King Cole Riot dk ‘Rainbow’ on a 4.5mm hook starting off with a chain of 38 which gave me 6 scales for the cuff. The hand part of the glove was done in half trebles, and I added a couple of rows to make a thumb at the end.

The scales are not as crisp as the Skye Cottage version, but I am pleased with the gloves overall, and it is nice to have practised this lovely stitch and made something useful. OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA
