Unless you have been reading my blog for a very long time you will probably not know who Jack and Kerry Anne are, and I thought it might be nice to introduce you properly.
When I took up crochet my first few projects were to make clothes for the two dolls, and it proved to be a wonderful way of getting into hooking – small achievable projects with a tangible use.
Since then they have been the recipients of many prototype pieces, and along the way their dressing up box has provided much pleasure to visiting children.
The original Jack and Kerry Anne have long since left the village so will probably never know that they have a name-sake, or get the chance to see their many crocheted accessories!
How sweet and such a good idea to have a dressing up box in miniature – far easier to clear up than the normal mess! I’m crocheting dolls and their clothes for Christmas presents at the moment, so hopefully they’ll be as popular as yours have been:)

If you are making doll’s clothes could I recommend including some blankets and a pillow? Putting them to bed seems to be a favourite activity.

Great suggestion, thanks!

I’m always a little disturbed by dolls like that… just a tad too ‘real’ for comfort! Still, what a great resource to show off some of your creations and entertain visiting children.

I know the ones you mean and they are disturbing. These are just ‘Tiny tears’ type dolls with male and female body parts (which is how we know which one is Jack!)

Phew… I have a friend with a life-size baby doll that she uses to model her creations and I’m really not sure that it does them justice!
